Three's a Charm

We just finished three very similar invitations for our clients Colleen M., Colleen O. and Jessica. Each of these clients wanted to use our custom scroll stamp on their invitations in different colors and pocketfold orientations. Although their designs are very similar the finished product is dramatically different for the three invitations. These invitations are a perfect example of how a couture creation can be recreated many different ways and still be refreshing and unique. Enjoy!

Tantilizing Tablescapes

As some of you know, we had a very busy weekend...with two wedding shows! At the Dream Event Planning Wedding Showcase, we created the paper accessories for the various tablescapes around the venue. Below are a couple of pictures -- one from the tall bar top table in chocolate, gold and orange. Love the cocktail plates on top of the terracotta containers. What a great idea! The other table was a winter wonderland complete with white on white linens and ice blue accents. So pretty! Enjoy!

As seen in...Engaged! Magazine

We are so excited to have one of our weddings featured in Engaged! Magazine. Carolyn and Bryan got married in Washington, DC in the Fall of last year. Some of you will recognize this wedding as the featured wedding on our new website.

Onto the juicy details...photos of our programs, votive place card holders, table numbers, bar menu, favor tags, menus and even the gobo we designed are pictured in the spread, along with a mention in the actual article that we designed the custom monogram for the dance floor lighting. So exciting! Check out the below for images from the magazine. Or, just pick up a copy! Enjoy!
Engaged! Magazine is a beautiful publication filled with great articles and a lot of local real weddings. Each wedding has about 6 pages of details and photos...great for brides looking for inspiration.

Be My Valentine...continued...

So, our fav photography Jen Lowe (http://www.jlowephotos.com/) had the opportunity to photograph Kirsten and Anthony's wedding this past Saturday. We blogged about their items on Friday, but thought that Jen's photos were just awesome and had to share them with you! Enjoy!!
Here are the programs...all fanned out for guests to pick up!

And, the table numbers...

These are the custom place cards we designed and they are tied onto organza bags that hold a bottle of wine for each guest...how nice!
Lastly, how cute are these!?! We had a whole "lotto" fun with Kristen & Anthony! Congrats!! (Sorry, I couldn't pass up that opportunity!)

Navy Knots

When we first met our clients Kate & Brad, they expressed an interest in having an invitation design that no one had previously used. Excited to be given the opportunity to work with a completely couture creation, we searched through our suppliers to find new products. Thanks to Kate & Brad, we found that one of our suppliers made a panel invitation with a pocket on the back. We worked with the navy panel pocket, light pink metallic backing and white invitation panel to create this beautiful invitation. To give it a little nautical flair, we incorporated the knotted rope design we had used on an invitation in the past. The end result is a completely new pocket invitation design in beautiful colors, enjoy!

Folder Fun

In November we blogged about Kasey & Matt's awesome Save the Date magnet. (If you haven't seen that post yet definitely check it out!) We were excited to have the opportunity to work with them on their invitations as well. Since their magnet turned out to be so great we had high hopes that their invitations would as well...and we were not disappointed! Kasey and Matt decided to use a black folder invitation with a meadow metallic backing layer and a meadow green satin ribbon. They asked us to custom design a unique monogram to go on the top of the invitation panel incorporating their colors and a dot design. Here are pictures of what we came up with, enjoy!

Naval Nuptials

We just finished working on accessories for the upcoming wedding of our clients, Kristen & Rich. They are celebrating the big day at the Naval Academy in Annapolis and wanted to incorporate the Naval Academy Chapel Dome on their accessories. We used their silver and black color scheme and came up with placecards, table numbers, and a custom sign that matched. Enjoy!

Allison Barnhill Designs Launch Party

On this past Saturday night, Allison Barnhill Designs hosted a cocktail party at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront hotel. We were celebrating the launch of our new name, look and website! Lots of our special vendors, favorite past clients, family and friends attended the event. The fabulous Jen Lowe of JLowe Photos (http://www.jlowephotos.com/) was there and couldn't resist bringing TWO cameras to capture all of the fun! Below are lots of awesome photos from the event. Thanks to all that attended...we hope you had as much fun as we did!
As a special treat, we had a candy bar, complete with all light pink, dark pink and lime green candies!
The dream team...Fiona's Cakes - http://www.fionascakes.com/ and Flower Follies - flowerfollies@aol.com. (pssst...they did my wedding cake and flowers). From the left, Dottie (Flower Follies), Fiona (Fiona's Cakes) and Cynthia (Flower Follies).

Cynthia from Flower Follies made this awesome arrangement for the cocktail party...complete with glittery tulips! And, Fiona from Fiona's cakes made the cute little mini-cupcakes in our pink and green colors.

Here's a great picture of Adrienne, one of our fav past clients, and her friend at the cocktail party. Adrienne was a featured bride on our website back in the Fall of '08.
These are our cute little centerpieces on the beautiful raspberry galazy linens provided by Rentals to Remember (www.rentalstoremember.com).
Below are some of my awesome friends that made the trip from Northern VA to share the special night with us!
Again, thanks to everyone who helped to make the night such a success.

Petals of Pink

Here is another beautiful pocketfold invitation that we finished today for our clients, Jennifer and Bryan. When Jennifer came into our studio she really wanted to create a unique invitation that looked like the flowers that were on her phone screen saver. Since we custom design everything for our clients we were able to find the perfect match to her request. This pocketfold invitation uses a blush pink metallic pocket, lavendar metallic backing layer, mauve ribbon band and accents using the petals of pink. We even used two different color cardstocks, lavender and blush pink, on her insert cards to give the invitation another pop of color when you open it. Enjoy!
