Love it!

Okay, I have to say this is my new fav invitation. Katie came to me with a new color combo...chocolate and fuchsia. Now, I've had lots of chocolate combos -- with light blue, with light pink, with champagne, rust, scarlet red, leaf green and more...but never chocolate and fuchsia. Katie picked up the invitations today and she was so happy with the final product. Hope you like the pics too!

Let's rehearse!

Alicia is one of my May brides and we've had the opportunity to work on almost all of her stationery for her wedding. She just picked up her rehearsal dinner invites last week and I thought I would share them with you. Her colors are light blue and chocolate and for her rehearsal invites she went with the same feel, but changed up the colors to mocha and a smoke blue. We coordinated the color of the text to her smoke blue envelopes. Enjoy!

Just like butter...

Jessica is one of my long distance brides...in Utah...with a wedding in California! Her colors are so different than anything I've been doing recently -- butter, blush and ivory. The final product looks so summery and fresh. Enjoy!

Thanks again!

Christie is one of my fav brides...she had such a unique and beautiful pocket invitation...inspired by her wedding in New Orleans. So, when she came back for a coordinating thank you card, I was excited to come up with something perfect for her. Christie called my tonight to tell me she received the thank you's and to thank me! Even better, she sent me pictures of her big day via email tonight. I was so happy to get to see how the big day came together and and honored that I had a part in their special day. Thanks again!

Puppy Dog Tails

Jennifer is one of our upcoming 2008 brides, so when she came to us with requests for her sister-in-law's baby shower, we were happy to help! The theme of the shower was "snips and tails and puppy dog tails". I LOVED desigining everything for this shower...the invitations, diaper cake, signs, favor tags and even a "it's a boy!" banner! See the photos below.

Thanks to Jennifer for sending the pictures and her kudos, "Here are some photos of all of the wonderful creations you made for me for the snips and snails baby shower. Everyone raved over everything! Thanks!"

Another destination...

Kylie's invitation is simple and elegant...perfect for their destination wedding in Jamaica. They picked an ivory pearl top layer (looks a little like sand) and an ocean blue cardstock backing. We rounded all the corners for a soft touch. Kylie will be picking these up tomorrow or Saturday.
Enjoy!

Sweet Program

Jessica came to me in need a program...and fast...she is getting married on April 26th. She loved the "Sweet" invitation design and since it was her colors, she wanted to mimic the design for her program. Well, we did it...in record time...they programs are on the way to her in Kentucky today.

What's your destination?

I have to say that I just love this new save the date magnet design we did for Alena. She is getting married in Cancun in November and requested a airline ticket/boarding pass design for a magnet. Makes me want to fly off to sunny places!

I also got a great email from Teri today regarding her invitations. The picture of her invite is in a post from a few days ago. Thanks for sharing!

"I just wanted to say that the invitations made it to my parents home on Saturday afternoon! Therefore, we were able to get them out yesterday as planned! They look amazing and some people who have gotten them today have called to tell me that they LOVE them and that they are gorgeous!"

Sunbursts!

Carrie (well, actually her fiance, James) picked up these rehearsal dinner invitations today. The sunburst design has become very popular...we can change the colors for each client and use them in different ways, but the overall effect is fun and modern. Oh, and we added the same touch to the return address on the envelope, so it coordinates. Enjoy!

A New Design

Natalie came to me last week with an idea for her save the date. I loved the simplicity and elegance of design and was anxious to put together a sample for her. This is a long thin ivory card imprinted with text in chocolate and tied with a knot of chocolate satin ribbon at the top. We're placing the save the date in a coordinating envelope that has the closure at the top, so the guests can pull the card out by the ribbon knot.

I'm delinquent again...

It's been a few days since my last post...but I'm sick, so I hope you will all forgive me! Below is a picture of Teri's wedding invitation. My wonderful associates, Allie and Kaitlin, were in the studio on Friday wrapping these up, while I was laying in bed trying to work. Really, I would just check emails every hour or so, when I could pick my head up off the pillow. Anyway, I love Teri's colors and I think the pocket came out really great. These are onnthe way to Teri right now. Hope she likes them just as much as we do!

Busy, busy, busy...

...which is why I haven't posted in a few days. But, the good news is that since I've been so busy, I have lots of fun new items to share.
It's not all about weddings here at Handmade by Allison, we love all special events...milestone birthdays, showers, luncheons and more. So, when my friend Jeannine needed a special invite for her dad's suprise b-day, I knew exactly what to do. Her dad is obsessed with his lawn and I thought this invite design was perfect for him.

Also, I just finished one of my favorite pocketfold invitations for Melissa. These invites have a gold leaf pocket, Japanese cherry blossom paper and an ivory pearl invite panel with red and gold border. I just LOVE the colors and design and the Japanese paper. Melissa really wanted to include the paper and I'm so glad we did!

Save the Date!

Sorry I missed last night's post. Busy day! But, I do have something fun and different for tonight's post. We're working on save the date magnets for April. Her design was inspired by Lauren's save the date that is pictured below. Lauren wanted to include three pictures from her engagement photo session and incorporate her bright pink and orange color scheme. These magnets were mailed in bright pink envelopes...very cute. April's design is using three pictures also, but she is using pictures of her and her fiance when they were kids and then their couple picture in the center. Love that your guests can keep these photos on their fridge for months to come!

Pretty in Pink

I am working on a really pretty invitation right now for Julia. Her colors are very unique...for weddings these days...pink and grey. I love the combination and the invitation design really fits perfectly with Julia's vision for her big day. The invite will be finished with a knot of pink satin ribbon running vertically around the invite panel. Hope you enjoy the picture below...I removed some details from the sample invite below, since Julia's big day is yet to come!

Passport to Paradise

It's been a very busy week at Handmade by Allison...lots of invitation orders going out, designs to do and emails to answer...which led me to start thinking about a vacation to a warm and sunny place. Or, it could have been that the udpates I was making to Alena's 'Passport to Paradise' save the date were making me dream of umbrella drinks and blue water. Either way, paradise sounds really nice right about now!

Alena is getting married in Cancun later in the year and is sending her guests a booklet with all of the details on the big day. I designed the booklet to look like a traditional passport with a few pretty touches. I also designed a boarding pass magnet to include in the back cover of the passport. Hope it makes you think of sunny places too!

Pink and Black

Today was a busy day. We wrapped up two orders...one wedding and one corporate event...and pink and black were the colors of the day!

Dawn's invitation is a light pink horizontal pocket design with black and white details. We mailed out these invitations to Dawn's guests to take a task off of her to do list.

The corporate invite was also a pocket, but with the pocket on the bottom. Since the event is taking place on a yacht, we added touches of water to the invite panel and response card and a small yacht graphic. We used the same graphic on the blue mailing envelopes....water, water everywhere!
