Modern!

Laura came to me a few months ago with this wonderful idea for her invitation. Her fiance designed the monogram for the front of the invite and also had a hand in pulling together all of the images for the "headings" on on the insert cards. I just love the overal modern and fun look of her invitation. I know this one will be a trend-setter! Enjoy!

Calling all photos!

Do you have pics or pro pics of any Handmade by Allison items? Do you know of someone who had our designs on our wedding day? We would love to have the pictures to use on our website and blog! You could even be a featured bride on our homepage for a month! Just email the pictures to us and we'll use them! Thanks!!

"O" what a pretty invite....

Kris came to me for her wedding accessories -- some really unique designs using mauve colors and "I Love Lucy" design elements (I'm sure I'll post those as we get closer to her big day). And, she ended up ordering invitations from me too! Her new last initial will be "O" and I just love this simple, but perfect monogram design. We combined lots of textures with this invitation....ivory pearlescent with mauve linen/canvas...and it really makes for a unique look. Enjoy!

Dragons!

Hmmm...dragons...doesn't seem to go with a wedding, but check out this Asian inspired table number we designed for Edawn. She had seen something similar to this and sent us a sketch of what she wanted. I love the use of the chocolate and red colors together and my favorite touch is the monogram in the bottom right corner. Enjoy!

The Knot - Real Wedding Feature!

I just found out tonight that our work was featured on The Knot in a Real Wedding! I actually blogged about Jessica's program a few months ago -- you can check back to older posts to see more pictures -- but here is the pro pic that was included on the real wedding post. I'm also providing the link to the actual article on The Knot. Very exciting! Thanks to Jessica for submitting the photo!

Retro?

Meg and Joe came to me for their save the dates. They wanted to give a fun, un-stuffy and retro look to their wedidng stationery. In addition to designing a cool image to use on all of their items, I also played with multiple fonts (the first letter's of their names are different fonts than the rest of their names), which gives another dimension to their invitation. The colors are cool and earthy, which will be perfect for their relaxing wedding by the water. I even used light green/mossy envelopes! Enjoy!

Ahhh...Autumn....

Thought I would share this simply beautiful invitation for Juliana. Juliana contacted me months ago to design an Autumn inspired invitation that incoporated her ivory, wine and chocolate colors. Love the branch and leaves on this one! Hope you like it too!

It's Monday...

...and I've got one invitation design that is a catch up from last week and one that just got finished over the weekend.

The first invite is Jennifer's tropical/beach inspired invite. Her design has been a definite trend setter! The second invite is the inside of Melissa's folder style invite. She loved the "Daring" design and we changed the colors to fit her wedding. Hope you like both of them!!

Whew! We finished!!

Everyone here in the studio is happy because we just finished an order for 600 programs and 4oo menus for Lanaea's wedding, that is taking place this weekend. Whew! That's a lot of rhinestones and ribbon tying. Here's a picture of her program. Enjoy!

We're looking for you!

Due to our wonderful client referrals, Handmade by Allison is growing by leaps and bounds. In order to keep up with the growing business, I need to find another ribbon, paper and project lover to come aboard the creative team! If you are interested or know anyone who might be the perfect fit, please check out the ad below. There is a link on the main page of my website too!

In the news...

So, I was looking at my local newspaper online today and I found an article about brides having to cut costs for weddings due to the sluggish economy. I started reading the article and realized that the bride and groom they had talked to was one of my brides!! Tyra and William are getting married at the end of August and are having a "Tiffany" themed wedding. For Tyra's invitations, we did a square tiffany blue pocket, tied with a white satin bow and hanging monogram tag. It looks just liked a tiffany box. Anyway, I just thought it was so great that one of our clients were in the news. Here is a link to the article.

One of my brides, Marci, received her invitations today and sent me an email saying how much she liked the invites. "They are absolutely gorgeous!!"

I really loved this design and wanted to share some pictures with you. I hope you enjoy!

All black and blue...

...in a good way! :) I just finished this beautiful invitation for Michelle. Michelle and her fiance, Jared, got engaged when the cherry blossoms were in bloom in Washington, DC and she wanted to represent that on their invitation. I just loved how the light blue, black and dark grey came together to create a modern and sophisticated invitation. Hope you like it!

Birds of a Feather...

....flock together....and get married! Bridget came to me wanting a simple, but different invitation for her upcoming wedding. She knew she wanted to incorporate a deep purple and moss green color into the design. So, we came up with the tea length ribbon band idea. Then, Bridget pops up with, "Can we incorporate a bird or birds?" Evidently Bridget and her fiance are both bird lovers and her fiance wanted to be an ornithologist (bird scientist). Well, that made my creative juices go crazy. Here's the final product. Oh, and her response card had one little bird sitting on the "A" in August. Too cute!

Wonderful Wasabi

Interesting title for an invitaiton, but I just love this design and new colors combos! My client, Leah, just received these pockets today, so I thought I would share them with all of you. Hope you like this design just as much as Leah did!

I had a few pocketfold and folder invitations which were delivered last week that had different and fun monogram tag designs. I thought I would share "just the front" of these invitations. Enjoy!

And the craziness continues...

If you check out my blog regularly, I think you've realized that I've been posting about once a week, instead of once a day. Ugh! It has been so busy that posting just seems to be the last thing on the list. SO, I apologize and am attaching a few designs for you to enjoy.

We received a request from Baltimore Magazine Bride to submit invitation samples for an upcoming issue. The categories requested were City, Natural and Nautical. Well, when I heard "City" I got all excited. I designed an invitation with the skyline of Baltimore a year ago for another bride. She ended up going with one my sketch designs of the Pagoda in Patterson Park, but I loved this "Skyline" design and have always wanted an opportunity to share it with others! This is my chance!

I'm also attaching "The Dunes" invitation, that I submited for the "Natural" category. It was a play on an invitation that you've seen on the blog before. Hope you enjoy it too!

Let's hope Baltimore Bride picks one of these designs up for their article. And, keep your eye out for Handmade by Allison invitations featured in What's Up Annapolis Wedding magazine. I'm hoping a few of our invitations make it into an upcoming issue too!
