Shara and Blair - 08.21.09

So, I decided to post about Shara and Blair's wedding, which took place this past weekend, with some "not-so-pro" pictures. Shara and Blair are family friends and so I had my uncle, aunt and cousins on hand to get shots of the big day, which took place at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club.
In addition to their invitation, I designed their table name and place cards for the reception. I just loved the feel of their wedding and heard that guests were stealing the table names to take home and frame...especially, if they lived at the beach in which the table was named! Go figure! Congrats to Shara and Blair...enjoy!

Roped in Love

As we are pretty nautical here in Annapolis, so, a lot of our invitations have a nautical or beach feel. One of our favorite ways to accent a pretty invitation is with a natural colored rope cording, finished with knots. It definitely adds a unique and special touch to a flat panel invitation...or even a pocket design. If you are a loyal blog stalker, you've probably seem some examples of this nautical rope design before, but if not, we hope you like Allison and Tiffany's invitations below! Enjoy!

Sandy Starfish

Shara and Blair are friends of my family, so I was so happy that they chose us to do their wedding invitations. Since they are getting married at The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club this summer, they wanted an invitation that really highlighted the beach and sun! Their pocket is a brand new color -- and the first design to use it -- "sand" with a metallic finish. It is just so pretty combined with the coral and light yellow accents. Hope the big day is as bright and happy as the invitation! Enjoy!

Welcome to Handmade by Allison's Blog!

Well, I've done it now! After watching many fellow wedding vendors blog their days away, I've decided to enter the world of posting. I hope it will be a place where my current clients can see their designs come to life and give potential brides the opportunity to learn a little more about Handmade by Allison.

I hope you enjoy the posts, pictures and more!

So, in my first post, I wanted to share a picture of Kim's invitation, which we just finished today! These unique pocketfold invitations include a pool colored square pocket, lime accents, natural raffia and gerber daisy accent. We love this invitation and can't wait to see what Kim thinks on Saturday when she picks them up from our studio!!
